Do you suspect that your testosterone levels in the body are low?
Low testosterone levels may result in slow muscle growth, erectile dysfunction, and lagging energy—to name but a few side effects. Nugenix is a company that aims to help boost t-levels quickly and affordably.
It manufactures a wide range of testosterone boosters with the promise to affect your overall physical and mental health positively.
Before running out and buying a jar, it’s important you understand what each product has to offer, what the ingredients are and if there are any side effects. Knowing how these supplements compare to others on the market will also help you make an educated purchase.
What Is Nugenix?
This is a company that aims to avail testosterone boosting products to the men that need them most. It’s possible that those who suffer from low testosterone levels, and associated side effects, such as poor sexual performance, could benefit from a Nugenix product.
That said, you need to know more about these supplements and what the customers have to say.
Do these products really work?
On the company website, you’ll find ample positivity from individuals who claim to use Nugenix supplements for muscle mass, low sex drive, and more.
We must tell you, however, that at least one of the Nugenix supplements, the Free Nugenix Testosterone Booster (also discussed below), isn’t FDA-approved . Furthermore, on the company’s site it does state that the statements within aren’t evaluated by the FDA.
You should remain cautiously optimistic about the health benefits before going all-out and purchasing the entire product line for low testosterone or t levels.
Nugenix Customer Reviews
Customers on sites like Amazon and Trustpilot have similar reviews to what you’d find on the company’s website. A majority felt Nugenix did increase testosterone levels by means of better energy, fitness, healthy immune system, and sexual function.
T boosters run the gamut from excellent to very poor and it’s up to the user to determine which works best and what alternatives exist. We briefly review them here in a transparent fashion with details and discuss what each supplement has to offer, in comparison to others available.
Nugenix Testosterone Boosters and Popular Alternatives
Nugenix offers five primary supplement lines for different needs. However, they all have one thing in common: they’re made to boost testosterone.
TestoGen vs Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster
Let’s first look at what these products have in common: Vitamin B6, Zinc, and Fenugreek Extract.
All three of these ingredients are commonly placed in T boosters. Vitamin B6 for immunity, Zinc and Fenugreek for increasing testosterone levels in the body , , . Each ingredient is available under a higher dosage in TestoGen, compared to the Free Testosterone Booster.
Other differences? Nugenix Testosterone Booster also includes Tribulus Terrestris, a well known T level enhancer .
However, TestoGen takes it to the next level with several other natural substances including Magnesium, which is a natural relaxant that helps in the muscle repair process . Korean Red Ginseng and Black Pepper extracts are also included in Testogen’s impressive ingredient list.
Of special note is the fact that there’s an FDA advisory against the consumption of Nugenix. he FDA takes a very hard stance where T-boosting food supplements are concerned, but only a few products earned an advisory.
TestoMax vs Nugenix Total-T
TestoMax prides itself on the research that went into making these T level capsules. It has very little in common with Total-T, aside from the inclusion of Fenugreek, Zinc, and Vitamin B12. The latter is included because a deficiency in B12, which supports red blood cells production, is linked to low T levels .
TestoMax is full of other nutrients including Folic Acid and Ginseng. Where Folic Acid may affect sperm production, Ginseng boosts immunity and energy levels , .
Total-T offers more Fenugreek than TestoMax does and some trace minerals of Peat and Apple Extracts, which may enhance strength .
TestoMax is manufactured under FDA-approved conditions, while we’re unsure of the approval for Total-T.
HunterTest vs Nugenix Ultimate
HunterTest is one of three T level boosters provided by the Roar Ambition manufacturer. It features three main ingredients including D Aspartic Acid, Vitamin D3, and Indole 3 Carbinol.
While D Aspartic Acid, an amino acid, and Vitamin D3 are common t-boosting ingredients, Indole 3 Carbinol stands out. Indole 3 Carbinol may help increase testosterone levels, as found by some studies .
Nugenix Ultimate comes with more extracts including Stinging Nettle, Maca and Boron. The benefits of Stinging Nettle are unclear, it’s the same with Maca, although both of these come with claims that they support testosterone production and sperm mobility.
Where the Ultimate supplement shines is in the dosing of D Aspartic Acid and Fenugreek, at 3000 mg and 700 mg, respectively. This is high compared to many others on the market.
HunterTest is manufactured under FDA-approved conditions.
TestoFuel vs Nugenix Maxx
Maxx is the company’s most comprehensive T booster. It features many of the same vitamins and nutrients found in the t-boosting supplements discussed above including Zinc, Fenugreek, Maca, Vitamin D, Black Pepper Extract, Ginseng, and more.
It stands out for its inclusion of Ashwagandha at 600mg. Studies show that this root increases energy and libido levels, natural testosterone, and lowers stress to boot .
Ashwagandha is a powerhouse of a supplement on its own and has been used for many decades across different cultures, especially in relation to the treatment of low libido.
While TestoFuel doesn’t contain this herbal remedy, it does feature another potent ingredient: Oyster Extract. Many people have long considered oyster meat to be an aphrodisiac. It’s full of Vitamin D, Zinc and Iron, as well. Oyster Extract should increase testosterone levels naturally per some studies .
TestoFuel is manufactured under FDA-approved conditions.
TestRX vs Nugenix PM-NMA
TestRX is yet another safe, natural testosterone supplement that claims to boost testosterone. It features some of the ingredients we’ve already discussed here including Zinc, Magnesium, Fenugreek, D Aspartic Acid, and B6.
Unfortunately, we can’t know for certain if either TestRX or PM-NMA are FDA-approved.
PM-NMA also contains more or less the same ingredients, but with a high concentration of Magnesium at 450 mg. Because of this, it’s considered a “nighttime” T booster, as the Magnesium will help the body relax and sleep.
High magnesium content makes these two supplements a worthwhile option if you’re looking to improve testosterone levels by managing your sleep patterns better.
Do Testosterone Supplements Really Work?
There’s loads of evidence across the internet, in scientific and medical journals, that lead us to believe that some testosterone capsules work. This depends on a variety of factors:
- What are the ingredients?
- What’s the quality of those ingredients?
- Does the manufacturer of a certain product abide by strict production standards?
- Does the user follow the instructions?
- Does the user support their supplementation through exercise and a healthy lifestyle?
Nugenix and Men: What Happens After You Take It
According to the company, once you start taking the testosterone booster capsules, you should experience the following benefits:
- Increase testosterone
- Boost in energy
- Better vitality
- Increase muscle mass

How Long Until the Effects of Nugenix Kick In?
It could take anywhere from a few weeks to over a month for the effects of Nugenix to kick in and your testosterone level to rise.
As previously mentioned, this depends on a variety of factors from your lifestyle to the quality of ingredients in the supplement itself.
Generally speaking, you may notice small differences in your body on a day-to-day basis with the full range of benefits showing up later.
What Are the Side Effects of Taking Nugenix?
The side effects or health risks of taking the Nugenix Testosterone Booster supplement may be wide-ranging and dependent on the consumer.
There’s not a single dangerous ingredient in the Nugenix product, given most of them are all-natural. You’ll find no actual testosterone hormone, for example. However, just because the ingredients are natural, doesn’t mean they’ll affect you, or your testosterone, positively.
It’s not uncommon for people to react adversely to everyday harmless ingredients. That’s why we advise that you take careful consideration of your unique health configuration before taking any supplement. You could start by ensuring that you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.
Here are a few of the side effects that may follow consumption of Nugenix testosterone boosters supplement:
- Upset stomach
- Racing heart
- Troubles sleeping
- Swollen ankles or feet
- Enlarged prostate
- Blood clots in legs
We always recommend that you consult with a trusted doctor before taking a testosterone pill or product.
How Should I Take Nugenix?
This depends on the exact Nugenix testosterone product you’re interested in, whether it’s the PM-NMA or Total-T.
Nugenix Free, for example, requires that you take three capsules per day, on an empty stomach and with a glass of water. PM-NMA has a daily dosage of four per day and right before bed.
If you miss a dose, don’t worry. It’s better to go about your schedule as normal, versus trying to catch up. Depending on the ingredients, your body may not absorb the extra amount you take anyway, making it a waste.
Taking a double dose or more could also lead to unwanted side effects like stomach pain or jitteriness in men.
There’s nothing to stop you from trying to achieve faster results with a testosterone product.
However, there’s also nothing to say it’ll work.
Instead, you can complement your new testosterone booster with a few lifestyle choices:
- Get at least 8 hours of sleep per night
- Eat a well-balanced diet
- Keep stress levels low
- Maintain a strict exercise routine
Where Is Nugenix Manufactured?
This testosterone product is manufactured in both the United States and Canada.
Nugenix Review in Conclusion
Nugenix offers an array of natural ingredients that may support testosterone synthesis including Vitamin B12 and L arginine, for example. By nature, these substances aren’t dangerous and probably don’t come with safety concerns for most people.
However, based on what we’ve found, product to product, this company isn’t FDA-approved, so we can’t attest to the overall quality that goes into the manufacturing process. The alternatives, such as TestoFuel, HunterTest and TestoGen feature similar ingredient lists and don’t have an FDA advisory against them like some Nugenix products.
